What’s new in terms of leave for family events

Law n°2023-622 of July 19, 2023, published in Official Journal on July 20, and entry into force on July 21, 2023, modifies article L. 3142-4 of the Labor Code by extending the legal minimum duration of certain leave for family events: The leave increases from 5 to 12 working days for death of a child, The leave increases from 7 working days to 14 working days for the death of a child of the employee aged under 25 and whatever his age if the deceased child was himself a parent, or in case of death of a person under the age of 25 in their effective and permanent care, The leave increased from 2 to 5 working days for the announcement of the occurrence of a disability, of a chronic pathology requiring therapeutic training or cancer in a child.
